Lyminge Association News
Did you know – that as a resident in Lyminge, Etchinghill, Rhodes Minnis and Postling you are automatically a member of the Lyminge Association?

The Association is very keen to welcome anyone who would like to help with one of the many events that it organises.

Would you like to help maintain the troughs that the Lyminge Association positioned at the Woodland Road/Brady Road crossroads and at Yew Tree Cross?

…help on our stall on Lyminge Day on 11th May?

…perhaps the Coronation Variety Show being planned for September might be just what you would like to do?  We need people to perform and to assist with the production.

Do we have a local Magician? Are you in a local pop group or do you have Performing Ferrets?!

Please call Adrian on 862699.

The Lyminge Association was formed in September 1970 and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Every month we publish the Lyminge Newsletter which is delivered free of charge to all residents in Lyminge, Etchinghill, Rhodes Minnis and Postling. It is also available on-line here
A major aspect of the Lyminge Association’s aims has always been to assist all the clubs, societies and associations and to organise events for the whole area.
These events include:
Garage Sale Safaris – usually 2 per year, Spring and Autumn
Lyminge Festival including the Garden Safari – every other year, the next one will be in June 2013
Christmas Parcel Deliveries – we assist Father Christmas with some of his work
Christmas Lights – Switching On Ceremony in Lyminge
Photographic Competition
Lyminge Calendar
Lyminge Showcase
Clean Ups around the village
Here are Father Christmas and his Elves delivering presents in December 2012
2012 was the Queen’s Jubilee year and we were part of the Jubilee Events Committee and assisted in the planning and implementation of the Jubilee events. We organised the Street Party, which actually took place on Tayne Field, and the Grand Draw which raised funds to pay for it. Our Chairman, Adrian also organised the very successful audio visual show in the Village Hall which played 4 shows to packed houses.   Photo’s of all Julibee Events are here….
During our 40th Anniversary year we planned celebrations for the weekend of 4th and 5th September and aided greatly by many Village organisations and very good weather, a good time was had by all. We also put on an Old Time Music Hall show at the Village Hall on 23rd October where for one night only laughter and singing “was heard for miles around”  Reports and Photographs are on the website
