Lyminge Family & Local History Research Group

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday morning between 9.30 to 11.45am

Membership

Membership is open to all members of the Lyminge Historical Society (Membership for 15 is £10.00). We can process applications to join at our meetings but welcome anyone for a free taster session.

What we do

We meet to assist each other in their research of family history. Members discuss their own successes and we hold discussions on various types of research and information that is available. Examples of discussions held include censuses, birth, marriage and death certificates, wills and internet research. We also research local history such as some of the people who are buried in the Lyminge churchyard.

What resources we have

We have use of the Library’s 2 computers to access ‘Ancestry‘ and have corporate membership of ‘Find my past’ that holds the 1911 census.

For local information, the Lyminge Historical Society has established an archive of a range of historic documents that can be accessed on request.
