SPEED WATCH SCHEME
Speedwatch has been implemented as an initiative to create greater awareness and to encourage all road users to travel within the speed limits. The purpose of the scheme is not to ‘catch people out’, it is hoped that it will create a safer parish environment for all.
The Speed Indicator Device monitors traffic and displays the speed on an illuminated panel if a vehicle is exceeding the limit. As it is portable, it can be used in a variety of different locations where residents have expressed concern. The Scheme is run by Kent Police and Lyminge Parish Council.
